Get to Know Your Destination
Drive your Mitsubishi Mirage to fall in lust with the ancient legend that established Dansai District in Loei Province. We’re talking about the legend behind Phra That Si Song Rak, built since 1560 during the Ayutthaya era to symbolize the friendship between the kings of Ayutthaya (Thailand) and the Lan Xang Dynasty (Laos) in a bid to fend off enemies. Both kings made the decision to befriend each other for the stability of their respective kingdoms, hence they jointly built this chedi and named it “Phra That Si Song Rak.”
Fall into timelessness and enjoy yourself on the road of happiness of the walking street of Phitsanulok that brings together tourists and locals to shop for a variety of goods from handicraft, apparel, OTOP products, and agricultural produce, and sate your appetite with the plentifully-available food and drink along the 500-meter road. What’s definitely going to be entertaining is the “ramwong” or classical Thai dance which is becoming rarer and rarer to come by these days.
Fall back in time with the classic charm of Chiangkhan. Take in the atmosphere of the ancient community of wooden houses along the bank of the Mekong River in Loei Province. Immerse yourself in the simple lifestyle of the locals which will be imprinted in your memory.
Fall in love with this super chic Blue Sky Resort that is surrounded on all sides by lush mountains and boasts a romantic flower garden and English-style rooms, located in Khao Kho in Petchaboon Province which is ideal for visiting all year round. - Pay respect to Phra That Si Song Rak. Wear appropriate clothing and avoid wearing red because it is believed that red is a color of killing which goes against the relic’s symbolization of harmony and unity.
- Visit, taste, and shop at the walking street in Phitsanulok which is on every Saturday from 4 to 10 pm. Enjoy traditional Thai dancing with the locals.
- Give alms to monks with sticky rice, which is a tradition that has been passed down through generations at the Chiangkhan ancient community of wooden houses. Food preparation for alms giving should be completed before 6 am.
- Drive your Mitsubishi Mirage up Khao Kho to breathe in the fresh air and take in the expansive mountain view from the English-style rooms of the Blue Sky Resort. Walk through fields of blue salvia, a flower with purple blooms similar to lavender blooms. Snap pictures to preserve the memory or share them on social media to make your friends jealous.
